The Insight Exchange Pty Ltd. (“The Insight Exchange”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) consistently looks to earn our clients trust and seek permission to collect personal information. The purpose of this statement is to inform event attendees, members, exhibitors/sponsors, marketing partners and other individuals we deal with (“you” or “your”) how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information.
Personal Information We Collect and Use
The Insight Exchange collects personal information in a number of circumstances in the course of managing, administering and promoting conferences and events as well as operating related websites. Personal information is collected and used as follows:
Registration. We collect your name, position/title, business contact information, and financial and transaction information such as credit card number for registration purposes. This information is used to process and administer your request to take part in our events and to permit our staff to communicate with you regarding your participation while providing customer service.
Information About Upcoming Events. Contact information you provide, including address, e-mail, telephone or fax number, may be used to promote and solicit participation in and send you periodic information about future events. We may also periodically send you our electronic or other newsletters, trade publications relevant to your industry or business sector, or other information that we feel may be of interest to you. You can always “opt out” of receiving the above periodic information and materials by selecting that option when you provide your information or following the instructions on the material provided, if available, or contacting us as described below.
Managing our Relationship. Other personal information about may be collected by our staff for the purpose of establishing and maintaining their relationship with you and to understand your role within your organization.
Additional Business Information. We may request additional (in many cases optional) information about attendees, some of which may include personal information. This may include industry sector, your purchasing role within your organization, job function, as well as additional information about the business you represent. This information is used to better understand your role within your organization and your organization’s business.
Information Collected From Third Parties. The Insight Exchange may collect information from third parties, such as mailing list vendors or public professional, business and trade directories. We take steps to ensure that personal information collected in this manner is collected with the consent of the individual, if required by applicable privacy laws. Information collected in this manner is primarily business contact information, which we use to solicit interest in our events that may be of interest to potential trade and business attendees, and as otherwise described in this Privacy Statement
The Insight Exchange Websites and the Internet
In many cases we operate individual websites for our events and members.
Website and Event Registration. On some of our websites you can register and create an account in order to register as an sponsor, attendee or member, order services and other features, and provide other business, employment, interest, biographical or survey information. This information is used to facilitate and manage your website profile, and is otherwise used and disclosed as described above. We will also collect your password and login name, and an additional security identification question (such as city of birth or mother’s maiden name), which is used to maintain security of our website and control access to your online profile.
Non-Identifying Information. In general, you can visit our websites and view their content while remaining anonymous by not providing any personal information. The Insight Exchange collects non-identifiable information that becomes available to us as a result of your visit to our website. This information includes, for example, your IP address, your Internet Service Provider (ISP), your Web browser, the type of operating system, the domain name of the website which linked you to our site, and the pages you visited while you were using the website. We may use this non-identifying information as a diagnostic and administrative tool for identifying system problems and administering the website.
